items disclosed a bit more, we can see a bit of a cross over WoW+DII, common; crafted, magical, rares, legendary and even set

Damage ranges are random for common (white), DPS numbers vary between http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/arch-axe, so perfection will come in various ways if these items are used for some type of enchanting,etc.

so we can see crafting will make magical(blue), rare(yellow), legendary(orange) and set (green) and notice their dps is static

as for rares (crafted)

On a quick look up, thouse gems seem pretty insane... +100 vitality and 15% run speed. Thats sick. Gotta check out thouse other stuffs more when I have the time.

Lol I thought farming flawless gems for perfects was tedious enough. Hopefully you can still get higher tiers of gems because if you have to work from flawless with so many upgrades...oh man.

upgraded to windows 7 so I could play since I got the Beta
here is small sample of me running the "end" boss

the whole Beta game size at the moment is analogous to starting with den of evil, blood raven, a quick rush to stony field+rescue cain, then running through dark wood -> marsh to find the countess.

once you do that, you basically start a new game and can pick the last chapter; feels about the same as making your way through inner cloister->catacombs to Andy (long way)

I should point out, i kinda can't stop playing
very fun!

Congrats for getting yourself into the beta. :)

It seems that the beta isnt all that short. Level cap is 13? I guess it takes a while to grind. :P

That "pew pew lazer" skill you used, seemed to be using your health bar rather than mana? Havent really looked much into Demon hunter, mainly just had my eyes over with doctor. ^^;

Btw, what do you mean with the "upgraded to windows 7 so I could play since I got the Beta" ? The game run badly on xp/vista?

hunter is 2 resources hatred(orange) generates fast,created with my Bola skill. rapid shot depletes it
discipline(blue) which is slow to regen I use to cast a temp IAS buff
on the left is the health globe, it's fine as the beta is easy

it wont run on XP.I had to get 7, but 7 is better it seems
(I think Vista works too)

working on crafting more MF%, having trouble breaking 60%, i'm trying to get rares to drop but not a one yet just some rare crafting materials

I got one from killing the Boss the first time, then I got Plan: Apprentice hide belt Although it takes a good 2-3 runs before I can make one.

I suppose rares live up to their name, however I can craft them with some frequency, so imo that ruins the whole point of a low drop% also I can get a few rare teeth (a crafting material) from salvaging blues..

I suppose they made the base rare drop % low because they anticipate people with 500% mf in the first year? If that suspicion is accurate, I'd suggest they dampen some of those curves. A low mf% creating 1:100,000 odds (arbitrary number) for a rare item drop is oddly asynchronous with the rest of the "rare" crafting mechanic. If they are trying to keep rares, truly rare, well they need to address the proc on rare materials from salvaging.. I can make them with some frequency

patch|updates resulted in the entire realm being reset so we are starting over from scratch

fallen tooth is now harder to salvage, however you will get 1 from salvaging a rare item (unless it is petrified bark)

rare items are >95% guarantee from first kill from the King so these leads me to a new strategy...

look for twink PvE (~BiS) gear for lvl 1
(these cannot be crafted as crafting starts with level 3+ usually 6)

I currently have a Steady Light hand Xbow is about 11.2 dps, and a Fine light hand xbow (9.6 dps)


3-9 damage ring,(amazing DPS)


put in stash (this is shared to your whole account including gold) and grab them on your lvl 1 (the ring i just put on as soon as im 3, that's like in < 5 mins of killing)
rush to king asap (takes maybe 40 mins)
grab rares, keep or salvage the rest.

pretty good, if I can manage a bit more mf%, I might be able to get more drops like this


with the rare teeth I make journeyman-slinglock
(lvl 13) this is the best item in Beta as 13 is max level

So its kinda like in D2, first drop = (IS SUPPOSED TO BE) good drop :P

Items also have durability it seems. Not that theres any suprise there... but you never know. :)

Anyways, thanks for the updates as always Jerkazoid.

Shame that the bnet seems to be down, or well the site where thouse url's of yours go to. Gonna have to check em later.

I now do this pretty much as fast as possible, < 2 min per king kill
more solo with lvl1's and 13's since wp sharing is really easy

seems like a neat trick, it will probably be fixed for the full release. Would be even faster with higher level characters in game than 13 :p

also 1-5dmg / +5aa and +3attack, seems pretty godly (in terms of d2) :D

I think this feature will be part of final release, basically they took the reality of rushing, and legitimized it.

effectively this is no different than joining baal rush games and waiting for 1 sorc to tele. D3 just has a faster PvE/party system (if you are familiar with WoW it is like the Dungeon LFG/LFR systems)

parties = automatic when you join (4 player per game)
waypoints are auto shared, presumably you would do that anyway
because there is no loot competition, simply put you are all in it for the slot machine run as fast as possible.

as for the ring,check out this bad boy I picked up Smile

(this is getting godly for beta, but 5% IAS would be better than MF)

the Auction house works currently by giving all members 100 "BB" [blizzard bucks?]
the best amulets (4-9 damage) are at buyouts 2500 right now

so far I was able to sell

for 200 buyout, so maybe I should have asked for 300 lol...
but the Boon?... maybe 1000+, since it adds 5 to each attk/prc/vit/def mitigation AND mf%
(attack = ed% and precision = crit)

(however the best is 4-12 from a lvl 7 tier of ring, the one with the gem on it

I have a 4-9, but as you can see, he compare tool is rating my rares as slighty better dps wise


until i raise my ed% (+attack), the 4-9 is just barely weaker
