Subject description: help! best way to do it?

so I gatherd hundreds of perfect Skulls and want to Cube myself some cute lvl9 pvp jools.

The formular is [40%of old item level + 40%of character level] and I guess im aiming for a lvl12 ilevel to get the mods I want.

Which level should my character have?
Where should the jool come from that I want to cube?

regards, MeePwn!

thx to my awesome math skills it seems the best way to do it is finding a ilvl12 jool somewhere and using a lvl18 char to cube them.

am i even right that i need a lvl12 jool?
and if yes, where do i find ilvl12 rare jools?

Remember that alvl 12 does not include the "rusty" prefix (alvl 13). I f i would roll a nice AR/-15 req/dex jewel i would feel bad if i'd rolled it at alvl 12, just for the small chance that it could have gotten 20 % ed on it.

It's easy to get rare jewels from normal Andy (mlvl 12), just glitch run her without having any MF on. Now you reroll the jewel with a lvl 23 char.
int (.4 * 12) + int (.4 * 23) = 13

If you get a rare jewel from lets say normal Schenk (mlvl 36) then you could roll the jewel once with a lvl 1 char
int (.4 * 36) + int (.4 * 1) = 14
This is ok because alvl 14 does not include affixes that would make the lvl req go past 9. If you want to reroll the jewel further you need a lvl 20 char
int (.4 * 14) + int (.4 * 20) = 13
The alvl will stay at 13 if you keep rolling with a lvl 20

ilvl > 36 jewels are better not used to shoot for lvl 9 ofcourse

very useful advice so far ty
is it possible to 'reroll' eth items like that?

I imbued an eth bladetalon with an lvl18 char.

that means its item level is now 22 (right?)
can I reroll more eth ilvl22 claws when i use a char lvl34 and the 6skull recipe?

22*0.4 + clvl *0.4 = 18
clvl = 33.5

Unfortunately it's not possible to reroll eth items. You can reroll the item but it won't be eth anymore. The game takes a new (base) item and rerolls the affixes on it.

22*0.4 + clvl *0.4 = 18
clvl = 33.5

1) correct, imbue = clvl +4
2) decimals are dropped [int] = integer

[int]22*.4 = 8 not 8.8

so a clvl 33 and ilvl 22 creates ilvl 21
clvl 34 + ilvl 22 = ilvl 21 as well
