Subject description: I'm out for blood!

So I was doing some lawn work because the weather is allowing me to. I discover cans of Mountain Dew and cigarette buds in various parts of my lawn.

I'm assuming as hes passing by my house in his car, hes tossing his shit out his window. If I catch him red-handed, I'm gonna have my laughs when he sees a cop with a shit load of littering tickets at his front door. What should I do to catch this guy? Thx in advance.

It has crossed my mind but I wanna be smart about it and get him at an "economical" level aka his wallet. Twisted Evil I did some research and found littering fines in my state ranges from $250-500 per cigarette bud or pop can. Dude is gonna pay, litterally I mean literally.

My idea is a small hidden camera or motion snap camera set close to my front lawn. But this can get expensive. I want to catch him in the act as many times as I want. Maybe over 100 times (100 cans of litter in my yard x $250 fine = $25,000 in fines) and hes going to be in poverty after hes messed with me, no joke.

Do you know who it is? If its a neighbor or random dude it changes the situation. The best thing to do is to catch it on video, or at worst pictures. The burden of proof is on the prosecutor, so you'll have to catch him in the act, or at least persuade him to stop.

Consider investing in a home security monitoring system while you're at it. While it might be a hefty expense, it can still help you in the future.

Also, don't use a firearm unless you're in a castle doctrine state and he's trespassing or committing a felony. Littering is a NOT a felony. It's a misdemeanor at worst and an infraction at best. Don't use deadly force unless you absolutely HAVE to. As with all advice, take it with a grain of salt and verify with your local lawyers and authorities, things may work differently in your area.

you probably won't catch him... plus police don't actually care about littering they would rather bust people for weed
