[30] tank |
|
so this spawned from a stupid idea of simply..how much life can i get a level 30 to have? so i came up with this rough sketch of possibly how to do this. but i also want it to be semi-competitive. don't see it doing that well in lld101 anything...but a pain for pub duelers. my main dilemma is how to deal damage efficiently without sacrificing life.
FYI this is just a fun idea, so i will take less dmg to keep life.
helm:
pez crown w/pruby 1skill/12rep/20vit/15frw/38life from pruby
armor:
viper magi w/pruby 1skill/mdr/res/38life from pruby/fcr if i don go melee
spirit shroud w/pruby 1skill/10rep/mdr/38life from pruby/cbf if no ryhme
peace for melee only. fhr/CRIT
belt:
SoE
deaths if go combo 30ias/15res/cbf f dont use either spirit shroud or ryhme
gloves:
bloodfist 10ias/30fhr/40life/5min
deaths 30ias/15res
boots:
goblintoe 25% CB!/dr/mdr
ck 30frw/20dex
weapon:
passion. i was thinking a zeal druid would be pretty cool. pretty much the only reason. i dont know how werebear form works with weapons but do you need shield when transformed? i may, possibly take out prubies for max jewels if i do this.
shield:
no clue, not sure if its even needed...never made a druid.
ammy:
angelics if melee also 75life/dtm
2skill tree 10fcr if caster
rings:
duel angelics life/rep/massive ar/needed if melee
sojs 2skills/50%more mana
40x 15life scs
citique please this is very interesting to me, im very serious about this one haha and i may actually be able to afford this one. when i finish ill post stats ;] show you my schweet life.[/b]

passion is 4x lvl req.
and why use zeal on a druid when u can use FURY? :3
and you dont need shield to be able to be in werebear form.
and i can see some connection in this build with erm.. "ghandi" sorc? then one with huge defense & dmg reduce. and as for the source of dmg, it would be thorn + cold dmg(which u gain from shiver/chilling armor). its been so long time since i saw the guide for that build.

ok scratch the passion haha thought it was 30 for some reason.
fury is wolf only. bear=25%more life
i know of ghandi but i wsnt going for being unkillable, more of just hella lt of life.
i WAS thinking
20lycan
1werebear
1oaksage
7cyclone armor
1arctic blast
1twister
1tornado
1hurricane.
hurricane was just for cold when melees come up to me. but i think that may be a waste of alot of points. iono, but also he prereqs for it add to cyclone armor.
what skill can a werebear use that would be good for this build?
the shield thing was...do you NEED a shield when transformed t block? i know hld druids use 2handed weapons. whats up with that?

2handed weapon cos of their long range and high dmg.
im guessing that fury druids are made to kill smiters anyways mostly so nn for shield.
and about the skills i dont really know, as werebear form you can use maul, fireclaw, maul and shock wave.
now, it seems like you dont have too many skillpoints to invest in any of thouse?
thouse skills wont be any fast killing skills. only thing i can think of is 6s crystal sword and sock it with 6 shaels and make it somesort of mauler druid then.

I was thinking of making a level 30 Bear tank as well awhile ago, but never got around to building him (half his gears were expired on a mule). I doubt it'd do any damage, so just aim for high life.
This is what I'd recommend as your set-up (I was thinking of using this set-up myself)
Helm: +2 Shape Shifting, +60~80 base life Circlet (PRubied)
Armor: Artisan's Light Plate of the Squids (PRubied)
Shield: Artisan's Kite Shield of the Deflecting (20 life jeweled)
Weapon: either Spirit Crystal Sword or 6 socketed Crystal Sword socketed with x6 20 life jewels
Amulet: +2 Shape Shifting, +60~80 life Amulet
Rings: either x2 Stone of Jordans or x2 Manald Heals (whichever gives more life)
Belt: +60~80 life Heavy Belt
Gloves: Bloodfist or Sander's
Boots: Sander's (couldn't think of anything else, but Sander's saves stat points)
Charms: x40 14~15 Lifers
Good luck with yours .

that seems more like the setup i would shoot for, but i want to try sort of more like the gear i had. (cheaper to see if it works) then if it is even so-so i will trade for the better gear (yours). so three questions for you...
1: how good would this be on a scale from 1-10?
2: about how much life could i hit between my build and yours? estimate.
3: what skill placement would you use? also what would you use to kill?

Not being able to kill things is quite a BIG weakness imo... But heck, we've all made builds for fun.

ive been thinking about tweaking this build a little and making it still a tank, but combine it with the summon spirit wolf/shockwave idea. wolfies eat them, while i stun them. if they do get through for a second im weak, so i have ample time to recoup. or would the skill point distribution have me with alot lower life and the wolfs being weak? or should i just stick with like maul or something? maybe fireclaws?

I think your best bet for an interesting Tank build will be a Singing barb. These can be fun builds against pubs so I have heard and will probably stack alot of life. I dont think they will be to expesive.. Only tricky thing for them will be a really nice warcry helm.

i thought about a barb. my friend was was the one who sparked this idea. he had a barb that had 10k life. and i was amazed by this. then i thought that a druid could have even more life. i just want to put it in lld form. but if a barb can hit more life (which i doubt) i will make him then, being as he will probably have a little more dueling functionality.

Warcry barbs hit 3k life pending on gear, and can actually do dmg. My wc barbs are at 2.9k and 3.2k life. Barb's get 4 life per vit point, compared to a druids 1 life. The 3.2k life barb could hit more if he sacrificed pskulls in his gear for prubbies.

but even without the bonuses from SS and oak sage barb will still have more?
and just wondering...what did you get between your barbs by sacrificing 300life? from the 3.2k to the 2.9k?
