Subject description: duel, quest together offline with Lan or wireless network

This question is similar to Zolas question.

So I want to play Diablo 2 with my brothers and friends on a closed network. Meaning I want to play D2 on my desktop while my brother is on his laptop in single player. How would I be able to do this? Any wires I need or router or anything, I'm a noob when it comes to networking. Thanks in advance!

I don't know if this would change your answer to my question but I don't have a broadband connection nor do I have a router or cable modem available to begin with. At the moment I only have a dial-up connection, thats it.

I do have a wireless card in my pc. Do I need a router with wireless capabilities to even start to open a tcp/ip gateway? Thanks a mill' for your help!

if you only have one internet connection, how is your brother going to play?

One connection means ONE person can be online at once. Do they even make routers for dial up......

Either your brother will need his own connection, or you will need a router.

Get a crossover cable, or an adapter that turns a regular ethernet cable into a crossover cable.
