Ok. Im doing a report on SWAT. A powerpoint presentation (For those who know it). Anyways i remember years ago, seeing a clip of a police sniper shooting a pistol out of a suicidal mans hand. Now im at school on my laptop atm so everything that could have this video is blocked. But i bet youtube has it.

Anyways, I want a way to save this video in my documents, so i can import it to powerpoint. So my question is, is their anyway i can save a video from youtube to my laptop, or another site that would let me save this clip (just incase you have seen it and know a site that would let me.)

Google it. There's a video downloader for Firefox that I used to have installed that would let you save YouTube videos. Can't remember the name, though; and it's possible it no longer works with the current version of Firefox.

Oh, wait. I do still have it. Called "VideoDownloader". Not really creative naming.

There are always ways around filters. If you use firefox you can get foxtor, which is pretty nice. There's always https://vtunnel.com and there are tons of different urls you can use to access youtube. One is http://2luo.com .

Lol thanks for the sites guys. My the site blocker my school uses is twotrees. It knows about vtunnel (typed it in and i was locked up and the school red flagged my computer). That 2lugo place works, but the videos dont load lol. Also uber, the place you specified doesnt work with my computer, it caught it Sad

. But if you guys have some more sites that can let me surf the web freely from school or know a place i can get a list then please dont hesitate to share.

Oh and thanks dao. I use Internet explorer on this comp. Will this program still work with this or does it have to be firefox?

Well, it's a firefox plug-in, so I'm guessing no. Hmm. I suggest this: Google "proxy site" on your home computer, and try a few. I used to use proxy servers when I was in Kuwait. (They block pretty much everything in the middle east, being all Muslimy and such.) The nice thing about proxy servers is that they're pretty innocuous, and there's a shite-load of 'em. It's unlikely your school has blocked many of them.

That doesn't help your youtube downloading issue, but at least you'll be able to browse the porno at school.

Wow. Thanks guys lol. Im probobly not gonna add the video i guess.

But a quick question. For the internet to work at my school, you have to go to tools, LAN settings, and select "use a proxy server for your LAN").

Will this ruin the list you gave me aqua? (I dont even know what a proxy server is, so id rather ask one of you guys rather than having my computer frozen and the tech people wipe everything i have.)

All a proxy server is (as far as the internet ones are concerned) is a shell that allows you to open up new windows within the current browser window. Because the webpage itself never changes, it bypasses normal site blocking software.

You could just save the video at home then take it to school on your laptop.

If you dont have firefox, install it anyway use the videodownloader add-on and it should save it as a .flv or .swf you will then need a converter to change it into an .avi [you can play the .flv but i think .avi would be better and will play on more applications].
