Hey, there is a free preview of Guildwars going on this weekend. It started last night and goes on through Sunday. The guys who developed Diablo are the same guys that created Guildwars and Arena.net which is their version of B-Net. My first impression is that this is a lot closer to Dungeon Seige than it is to Diablo or any other Blizzard product. If anyone else is trying it I would be interested in your thoughts on the game.

its runs pretty well of my computer and I have a subpar video card.

i get major lag in it,so i guess until i get new card im screwed,but i can play lil and from wut i saw its awsome

I am getting a lot of lag too and I have a G-Force 4 OTES 128M card. My son has a ATI 9600PRO In the computer I built him and he is experiencing lag too. And we are both on cable modems so I don' think it is the connection. It may be thier new streaming technology has a few bugs. Is it just me or is this game just like Dungeon Seige?

Probably, Dugeon Siege was pretty popular, so I'm guessing they think they will hit a homerun... or maybe they are using the same engine Laughing

Pretty cool having like 50 or 60 people running around in town at the same time. Although you can only party up with 6 I think to do the actual quest and stuff. I don't think at this point that you are going to be able to individualize your characters as much as you can in Diablo but I may be wrong because you can collect colored dye and stuff to color your armor. So clans will be able to adopt unique colors for all thier members. I have not yet tried the PvP mode but want to give it a shot before the Preview ends tonight.

Well never got around to PvP but I did four of the quest. Some are really hard. And gaining experience takes a while. I played for maybe 5 hours total this weekend and leveled from 16 to 18. The trading and crafting are pretty interesting. I think if this game is free to play it may steal some of the thunder from WoW.
