do any new interesting options open up between 30-40?
or just stick with the same old stuff?

You could try a spirit gilded shield with %edmg(enhanced damage off-weapon will add to smite damage although it won't show on screen, I'm sure you knew this already). It's not quite as much damage as a barbed shield, but the +2skills and %edmg should make up for it, not to mention the other nice benefits from spirit. You could also try a nice rare barbed shield with +2skilltab(I'd go combat over offensive aura), 30/20 deflect, other beneficial mods(res, -req, life, etc).

below 42 = any barbed shield that has +2 pcombat/deflecting. personally i have a 2 p combat/deflecting/80% ed/50% psn reduction level 35 shield (was upgraded)

oh man i wish it was 75% it would be a red shield ^___^

basically:
41 and below: +2 pcombat/deflecting barbed
42-47 = hoz
47-49 = spirit st

51+ is a separate realm (50 is ok for zons)

i will then. Since i cant seem to get my hands on a 3 skill 4os ceremonial bow, i might have to settle for Mat bow... 25 extra dex would help me a bit.

I found a 2 skill 4os ceremoial bow today but I threw it away cause my inventory/stash were full and I found something I liked better... -_-
