So while I was thinking of a way to make a zealot killer (Grr @ zealots) I + some German dude thought of a max bone armor/weaken melee nec. It didn't end up being effective vs. good zealots, fueling my hatred of zealots but still fun + effective against any other build. The idea is to negate high damage lvl18's and have high life/dmg against elemental/magic guys. Poison dagger isn't so much for the Poison damage but for the AR it gives, psn is just a bonus.

Skills:
10 Bone armor - absorbs 230 dmg w/syngeries +prebuff stuff
10 Poison dagger - +129-153 Psn dmg +210%AR
4 Bone Wall - Adds 15% Absorb to Barmor, as opposed to just 10% from Barmor itself
1 Amp - Vs casters/weak dmg guys
1 Weaken - Vs high damage bastard zealots n such, -33% damage recieved

Gear:
The Diggler! Dirk (Ith'd) - 30ias(only adds .1 APS) 10 dex/ Ignore Defense(dunno how that works in pvp) If you can find a better rare go for it.
15% Superior Gothic Plate 4x 9maxers with -Req
15% Superior Crown 3x 9maxers
Pelta Lunata 9max'd
Cow Kings Boots
Bloodfist
Death Belt
Angelics Jewelery
+3 Bone armor wand/shield on switch
I went for 7frame 56%FHR with bfist, 2x 12fhr/mana gc's and 3max/ar/8fhr LC
Rest of you're charms should be 10life sc's with some max/ar's, find a good balance.

So all that gave me 323 Defense, 230 Damage Absorb, 558 life, 2424 AR, 235-458 Damage, 1.7 attacks per second, 40fbr, 7frame hit recovery, with weaken -33% damage recieved.

I think that's it, theres probably some room for improvement, suggest/flame away. Good day.

too bad almost all, if not all zealots use death's so the psn isnt more effective. but like you said, its just for the ar. but maybe make a higher lvl version of the sac necro to do the same thing? more phys dmg that way

I'm making a build quite similar to this right now, though I stick to level 18 chars.

Level 18 Zeal Necro

18 points in Bone Armor
7 points in Bone Wall
Not sure what to do with the rest of my points - may just dump them into Iron Maiden

Obviously the build uses a War Scepter with Zeal Charges. Curse with IM, recast Bone Armor, and you'll be able to laugh at any zealot you face. Of course, this is an Open category build. In a straight melee duel, you can only recast once, and so Amp Damage may be a better choice. Charges aren't allowed in the Arena at the moment, although this rule is being reconsidered.

Anyway, if you want a Necro that can go toe-to-toe with zealots, I think this build has potential. When I finish making it, I'll let you know if it works as well as I hope it will.

Think IM has the same additional 10% penalty versus players as thorns does. Go for life tap or amp damage Smile
