I don't think anyone has mentioned it, but double swing at the later levels does replenish mana. I used to use it on my hlvl frenzy on mana burn monsters.

Against a bone nec, or any level 18 caster for that matter, I'd try to run him out of mana. Unless they are using an eth rune shield (which won't actually help that much), most of them will regen ~2.5 mana/sec.

Awesome. I suggested this somewhere earlier in the guide, but because my Throwbarb is norm-rushed, I couldn't test it for myself. Do you know whether shift-clicking Double Swing replenishes mana?
If it's possible to replenish your mana pool by shift-clicking Double Swing, that gives your Throwbarb a new tactic against casters.

That's also very good advice. It also depends on the quality of the person you're dueling. In my experiences, I found that the bad casters tend to mana pot and the good casters don't need to.
However, especially against a level 18 necro, depleting his mana pool early will make things much easier for you. You will be able to manage the duel and positioning much better.

swordback hold might help a lil bit vs. bone armor recasting necros.. but probably not enough. I thought it should be atleast mentioned though.

No, shift clicking doesn't replenish mana, similar to how sacrificing with shiftclick does not waste life. I'll test it real quick again, just to make sure-but I'm pretty sure thats how it works.

Ah, bummer - if you do use Double Swing to replenish mana, you will then need to be careful to avoid taking spells at close range. Still, it's definitely a helpful tactic if you suddenly rush in and DS unexpectedly from time to time (especially with a point in Spear Mastery - hope for a high Critical Strike).

makin 1 of these atm.. still missin that bloody throwmastery helm + some max dmg gc's but this build seems ok 7xx dmg atm usin my amas visionary of wut ever circlet --> ar % per lvl and 2x life with x-31dmg on it.. and life looks like ~800

Since I think I will eventually give in and hell-rush this character...
Here's my norm-rushed level 18 Throwbarb. He's only using 15 max jewels in his helm because I'm hoping to find a better version with more skills in addition to +3 Throw Mastery.

i made my own lvl 18 throw barb without ever seeing this page until now
i think i came pretty close to what your stats on dmg and attack rating (if i remake and max out dbl swing instead of only putting 10 points into mastery and and dbl swing) (got lvl 7 dbl throw {- 3045 ar - 714 dmg DT -}
Though i have 200 less life im missing 26 life scs and thee nm and hell stat books - which will make my vit 115 (713 life atm)
Though i dont use Deaths i use CB gloves and OW belt, but im not sure if that dmg will be > the more throws i can get in with deaths, what do you think?

I'd definitely use Death's combo - Crushing Blow is nerfed on ranged attacks, and I don't think the Open Wounds damage would outweigh the benefits of 30 IAS. It's been a while since I checked the tables, but I believe you'll lose 2 frames off your attack, assuming that you're using a Twitch and a 20 ias javelin.
Plus, you don't have to worry about finding a rare ring with Half Freeze.
I'm going to finish the remake of my thrower (adding a g-rush) in a few days, and I'll post the stats. I'm upgrading the charms to have more mana available for Double Throw, and I'm replacing the shield with a 40 ed Bone Shield. I'll post the stats after I finally get around to finishing up.

Finally got around to remaking my barb. I added a full hell rush and I upgraded the small charms to a mixture of 15/manas and 15/15 poison SC's. Here's the stats - still a work in progress, but closer to being "complete."

Not a bad guide, but the presentation is quite egotistical. It's like you're trying to say you're the first person to put together a good throw barb which is absolutely not true.
