My dell cord mouse has been being pissy latly. I'll be playing a game or something and the cursor will all of asudin go way lower right or some other random place and it takes a few swipes on the pad to get it back, it's really frustrating. I've tried cleaning them. Them being the mouse, and the mouse pad. I've tried convincing it to stop, but it's not much for words. It's a really nice mouse, but only when it works. So, my question would be, how do I get my mouse to stop PMSing? I'd rather not have to buy a new one, though a logitech with weights would be nice... Yeah, anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you could give it a nice firm spanking, or a toss across the room. And if that doesn't do it, then you can always just spend a whole 15-30$ on another crappy one. Or spend 90$ on a good one. Embarassed

Mine did that too, it was the most annoying thing in the world when I was photoshopping and all of a sudden I would end up with this huge streak across my artwork.

It doesn't do it anymore and I wouldn't suggest this solution, but this is how it got fixed. My dog chewed through the cord and I ended up splicing each wire back together individually and now it works like a charm. Very Happy

my wireless mouse did that then i chucked it across the room and it split open, i was like o shit my dads gunna flip, so i put it back together and it worked. then i broke it doing something stupid that i dont remember.

next mouse was another laser one, wired though. it did the same thing so i swung it on the cord and then let it fly into the wall, well i still havnt found all the parts, so score is me 1 mouse 1

i then got a 3rd mouse and this one hasnt decided to get screwey yet, so ill update when the new score is decided

i still use a mouse with a ball inside of it...works better than all of those fancy new lasers ones. it's never given me a single problem, and ive had this one for like...3 or 4 years. i do a lot of photoshop stuff too, and it works fine.

Does anybody know why this happens? I've been using this mouse since late January and just recently it started to jump around a bit and sometimes it clicks without me clicking (not too often). At first I just thought it was due to interference since my brother recently got home from school and our rooms are next to each other. However, after reading this thread and realizing that I didn't have this problem while dorming this past semester, it seems that the problem lies elsewhere.

So, any ideas?

according to a review all you have to do is dl the lattest drivers.

Latest drivers on a 4 month old computer?

It didn't do it at first, but latly it's been acting up. My guess was it's dirty somewhere. Is there any way to clean a laser?

My optical mouse was having trouble clicking, I'd press several times and it sometimes wouldn't go.

I got fed up one day because I missed a good drop on chaos game (Ended up being a mana/life sc) and I hit the mouse several times hard on my desk.

Been over a week, and it's perfectly fine now Very Happy.

surprisingly, beating the bejesus out of electronics fixes them quite often. there is that occasion where you explode the fine workings of the inside of the delicate electronic device you are pummelling, but it doesnt happen often enough if you just give it 3 or 4 good sharp raps on a table.

BEAT HIS ASS, SEABASS!

I never installed the drivers to begin with and it's been working fine until recently.
