I saw the nonladder and ladder characters switch... And I also noticed people talking about how lines on west were going down.

yeah, there's a bunch of rumors floating around.
supposedly some L and NL chars switched for a few min. during those few min, some people were able to transfer 290s, sojs, etc from their NL chars to L chars. there have been posts on the b.net ladder forums advertising their 290s and sojs. some of the threads have been false claims but others seem to be legit. if some people were indeed able to transfer over, it doesn't seem to be that many.

nobody really knows for sure except for the people that did transfer items over if it really happened.

by the way. this morning, the line ups on west nonladder, went from 1800 to 80-50. im not sure if its still like that, ill edit when i go on in a few minutes.

Two possible explainations here:

A) Blizz finally fixed all the rampant botting that's been going on, and possibly some of the other exploits that have come up within the recent weeks (god mode, any dupe hacks, possibly this NL/L transfer exploit/glitch)

B) The lines are down because the botters haven't relogged back on b.net yet, and it will return to the 1800+ lines again within the next 12-24 hours.

I'd personally go for option A of these two. Blizz needs to show that they care about all of their products still, especially with the upcoming release of WoW looming within the (probably further than we think) near future.

Well I checked out the B.Net forums, full of panic and chaos, but I see what happened. In order to fix the long lineups, Blizzard created a method to prevent botting, and a very stupid one at that. Whenever a player tries to do pindle or shenk or whatever those super unique monsters they rapidly run, if they create games too fast doing multiple runs like that, they`ll become temp banned. All the botters have to do now is set their create game times a bit longer and we`ll be hitting 2k lineups again.

As for the NL items on L, what happened was Blizzard runs both L and NL servers on 1 computer on 2 hard drives. Then they got this idea to fix both servers at one time with this botting problem. For some inexplicable reason, they REALLY screwed up and swapped NL and L chars for a couple minutes. The smart people permed games, dumped a bunch of 290`s or 3-20-20 or 08`s into a L permed game, then rejoined with ther true ladder chars. That, or they just stayed in a game until it was reverted, and a ladder char joined the for-now ladder game, and took bad stuff, and that`s it. So Blizzard REALLY fucked up bad on this one, and the entire forum board is demanding a rollback of about a week to undo the chaos. Therefore, I would suggest all you ladder players halt your mfing, because it`ll all be in naught if there is indeed a rollback.

Yeah, so this sucks.

Actually, checked a bit more, and there are random time intervals as to how long you must wait to join a game. That means you`re not allowed to rapidly join games, or else you get a 15 minute ban. Therefore, there are HUGE risks when xfering and muling, so until they fix this, I shouldn`t risk xfering major items.

And those rumours about NL onto L is true, one guy pulled it off and posted in blizzhackers forums.

Blizzard seemed to make life for botters easier, now the bots seem to STILL work effectively, and more efficiently due to smaller lineups. Some guy on BNET forums claimed he just did 200 bot runs (yes there are lots of retards on those forums not getting banned...go see for yourself rofl) without a problem, yet a legit mfer got banned 15 mins after 5 games.

Hopefully all this chaos will get sorted through.
