Yeah, those top rank player videos are a joke. This is serious stuff for these guys. Good luck at your tournament!

There's a big forum about SSBM at www.smashboards.com that gives you pretty nearly all the information you'll need about that game...ever, and there's a Tournament Discussion section, which'll have upcoming tournaments listed and such. As for beating a lot of the top players - watching a good player is very different from playing against one. You may be surprised how good some of the average people are, but then again, I don't know how many people any of you have played so I guess I can't say anything...you could be Bomb-Soldier, for all I know! Tell me if any of you decide to attend a tournament, because I might just be there too. Smile

You need some sort of adapter for that, fudge. My friend knows more about that, so I'll ask him and post about it next time.

Also, the tournament results are in! I got my ass kicked early on and sand bagged it after I fought my roommate (he was my second fight, yeesh), so I didn't do so well, but my friend got ninth place in the tournament, which is pretty good, considering ChuDat, who two stocks Isai and needless to say won this tournament while also taking a nap between matches, and KM, one of the top Foxes in the country, were there, along with a tough Shiek and a ridiculously brutal Captain Falcon. My other friend got 7th place, which is really quite impressive! Expectedly, I got my ass handed to me when I had a one on one with KM, but amazingly enough when we had a few 2v2 Team Friendlies, my roommate and I beat Pich, the 4th place winner, and Chu a few times!

Notable events were my roommate getting smashed by Ganondorf's Up Tilt in a Tournament Match, Chu almost three stocking KM's Marth with his Game & Watch, and me getting my butt handed to me on a platter by KM's Fox against my Cpt. Falcon.

All in all, it was pretty awesome for my first tournament, and I'll more than likely go to the one next week at Maryland. Smile

Wow, you beat Chu? That's awesome! Get some videos of you and your buddies up for us man!

What was first place? A trophy, or was there money involved?

Seriously, I want that online play so bad, but it all depends on the cost of it and if it needs a seperate cable installation etc. etc. or if I can run it through a phone jack on a seperate line O.o

Or maybe I can use another splitter...

Yeah, Smash for revolution is gonna rock. There'll be a regional tournament one week after it comes out, so it'll be cool just to see what sorts of techniques people can figure out/master in such a short amount of time. And one can only speculate how they can further advance the game..

Fudge, you should send me your videos, I'm always interested in seeing how people play and how their mind works, it's fascinating and it improves my own game too. Wink

Also, this is a relative newcomer to the Japanese Smash Community, but he is easily the best Falco player in the world. I'll upload videos of him when I get them from my rommate.

SSBM is so fun. I would destroy you all as Jigglypuff.

And yes, I am serious. I have mastered the jiggly.

Code:
http://zdmedia.vo.llnwd.net/o1/1UP/revolution_cont_tgs05_1500k.zip

this changes smash bros ALOT. it looks like a T.V. remote with a big fat button on it. i can imagine four guys in front of a T.V. waving their arms around and yelling at the screen Confused[/code]

that is the most annoying controller i have seen outside of Xbox's Huge one... who really cares about 1 handed controllers anyway?

Edit... i looked down and it got worse... the have a joystick in the other hand... meaning its that annoying.. and 2 handed.

at least they have that trigger... i love that about nintendo... gives an arcade feeling if you ask me.

Yeah I was checking out the Nintendo Revolution as well, at first hating that controller Confused I don't see how a setup like that is going to compliment gameplay much, maybe for First Person Shooter games but good old Smash Bros. suffers in the process. It was said they'd be releasing a 'classic' controller as well, though I hope classic means Gamecube style rather than Super Nintendo style. Smile

The stages on that one are a lot more fun than Melee's. Especially in one player mode when you can get Pikachu to kill himself...thats always a plus
