Can anyone help me with starcraft?

Heres a little thing i do when in a 1v1 with people
its like a little rushing chart

TvP (terran vs Protoss) Rush with medic/firebat
TvZ (terran vs Zerg) Rush with marine/medic/firebat strategy
TvT (terran vs Terran) dont rush

ZvT (zerg vs Terran) rush hydralisks/zerglings
ZvP (zerg vs Protoss) rush zerglings
ZvZ (zerg vs Zerg) dont rush

PvZ (protoss vs Zerg) play defense
PvT (protoss vs Terran) rush zealots
PvP (protoss vs Protoss) Rush zealot/dragoon

Sorry if this doesn't sound like a good strategy to much of the pros here, just a little something for me to guide me.

Well, gotta go, hope this helps u a lil belarathon.

That guide is pretty decent actually.

Here are my thoughts. For all races, you can always choose to be defensive. For terran rushes, you dont necesssairly need medics b/c of the time imvolved, but sure do help.TvP, early firebats alone should be okay versus zealots. I'm pretty sure Firebats > Zealots. TvsZ, Firebats are Etremely effective versus zerglings. TvT, you can always rush with rines n bats and maybe medics, but remember the fact that the enemyT will have bunkers. So rushing isnt always a good option.

Zerg rushes are generally the deadliest IMO, b/c of the quick, cheap, and effective lil bugger, the zergling. ZvT a nice force would consist of zerglings and hydralisks. ZvP, rush with zerglings. If the protoss player is slow, he'll only have 1-2 zealots, which can be beaten by 6+ zerglings.
ZvZ, i rather not rush, b/c of the zerg's ablilty to make sunken colonys for 125 minerals i think. Not to mention they do 40 dmg.

Protoss, imo are slow rushers. B/c they take alot of time and minerals to build. PvZ, i'd play defensive. Early on, you'll only be able to get 2 zealots or so if your decently fast. By the time you send those zealots over, you'll be swarmed by zerglings. Zerg should have sunkens in their base for some static def anyways. PvT, rushing zealots is a good idea. You'll encounter marines in bunkers, and if they enemy places the bunker away from his workers, just run past the bunker, and go straight for the workers. PvP, i'd rather not rush. EnemyP should have zealots and maybe a cannon waiting for you.

As always, you can choose not to rush, and play defensive, and hope your opponent will rush you, encounter your def, and die ^^. When rushing someone, if you are able to kill the only enemy units at hand, go striaght for the workers, and keep sending in units from your base. Keep the pressure on. And, if you know your gonna be beat, retreat. Better losing some units, than all of them.

Upgrades: Imo, for zerg, i upgrade armor first. If i remember correctly, this allows 1 additional attack of static def and units. And that one extra hit that unit can take, means 1 less hit on the rest of your units. For terran, i usually upgrade weapons, if anything at all. I usually just wait for the armory to upgrade mecha units instead of foot soliders. Protoss, i like to upgrade weps. Protoss units are powerhouses in both the damage and life divisions, so getting more dmg for them imo, lets them kill things even faster.

Well..those are my thoughts for now. Confused

i personaly like to 2v2 against people...i build mass zealots...my friend builds mass Dragoons...and we mass at one time...his goons take out the flyers and my zealots kill all the ground units...i can litteraly have a base full of zealots by the time most ppl r done setting up an anti-rush defense....if play but....i lost my origional disk...so unless i find it no starcraft for me...=\

Lil convo, with the best Bw player i know. I can honestly brag about him, ive never seen him lose a 1vs1. It's a bit long i might add.

Once you get that stuff down, work on advanced things, like:

1. Hotkeys (hotkeys are a *must*)

2. Micromanagement (otherwise known as micro, where you try to manage your units as efficiently as possible. For example, when you're using ranged units and you're fighting a battle, look at your guys and see who's taking a beating and might die soon. Move the guy out of there, and your enemies will either pursue the unit and get slaughtered by your other units, or they'll attack your other units, in which case you'll bring the guy back and continue rotating until they're dead)

3. Using waypoints (choose a unit or a group of units, and hold shift while issuing multiple different commands, and they will perform the tasks one after the other. For example, if you want to try scouting, use a worker and make him move to many different places on the map, then forget about it and work on your other stuff.)

4. Cloning (This is where you select a group of units, and make them do the same tasks to different targets really efficiently, using the shift-click de-select command. For example, at the beginning of a game, select your 4 workers and click on a mineral patch. Hold shift and click a wire-frame portrait of your worker, then click another mineral patch, then hold shift and click another portrait, click another mineral patch, shift-click another portrait, and click another patch. You end up with an effective split that sends your units directly to seperate patches, instead of making them look for them on their own or (shudder) watching them sit at a single patch and going to a different one only when someone took their place. This technique can be used for scouting, scourging targets from the sky, even nuking!)

Also, when playing a team game, decide a strategy with your partners, and make units that complement each other. If your ally is making reavers, don't be stupid and make firebats or zealots or (the worst choice) zerglings. #1, you'll be blown out of the sky and #2, your units will get decimated by the friendly fire splash damage. Make anti-air, or air yourself, and start making cheap and effective defences early on so your opponent may have a bit of time to tech up. Start teching when (s)he's ready.

i only read part of page 3 so sorry if im repeating.
learn micro & macro and dont spend too much time doing one or the other.
watch out for drops lurker/tank/reaver etc.
