Its definately a good idea to use an akaran rondache spirit and put a point in fanat. If someone stacks up on the light res you can always try to smite them into a corner.

Put it on switch for a melee char like zealot,fury wolf or barb, if youve got damage charms that thing will pack a suprising kick for the unexpected.

Socketed weapons cannot be imbued, etherial weapons can and they keep the etherial properties. Etherial items that are imbued are only really valueable if they spawn with 'rep durability/xSec'.
