Awesomeness. Thank you sir.

BTW this will, I suspect, fix many people's "I keep having to login again!" problems. Very Happy

PostPosted: Thu Jan 31, 2008 11:38 am    Post subject:  Can we fix the login cookie domain please?

I typically access the site by simply typing in "lld101.com" to my browser's address bar.

When I login, the site attempts to set a cookie with a domain of ".www.lld101.com". Note that that is NOT the domain I logged into, thus my browser rejects the cookie. The site continues to track me via a session id parameter (the sid=.... on the end of every URL). The session id works fine, until ... I follow a link like the "LLD Guides - Level 22 to 30" link in this post, which specifially sends me to www.lld101.com.. at which point my session id is invalid and I seemingly have to login again.

Not that it's a huge deal, but I use the PTifo skin so I don't have to see everyone's sig pics etc. And suddenly seeing them again because I'm "not logged in" is just annoying. I know I should just login to "www.lld101.com" but I just don't remember. I almost NEVER type the www ANYWHERE and here is no exception.

The simple fix for this is to set the login cookie domain to ".lld101.com" instead of ".www.lld101.com". This will allow the browsers to send the cookie to every subdomain of lld101.com, and not just the www subdomain.

Can that be done please?
